Join the Planting Justice Mother Farm team at our 4-acre orchard and food forest in El Sobrante at 10:30am on Sunday, August 11 for a farm tour and tasting of our mid-summer fruit!
The 6-member PJ Mother Farm team nurtures two trees / bushes of each varity to grow scion and cutting wood for propagation at our East Oakland Nursery, so we're able to grow over 1,000 varities of fruit on limited land, and the fruit from our pairs is a bonus to share with our community and distribute to neighbors in need.
Check out more about the PJ Mother Farm here.
We'll start at 10:30am with a short tour of the PJ Mother Farm–a unique urban farm with fab views of Mt. Tam–then we'll enjoy the many varities of Japanese plums, nectarine, peach, late mulberry, baked good featuring our fruit, and we’ll also have farm jams and possibly some farm honey available for sale!
The event is limited to 30 people, and is on a sliding scale to assist access and opportunity to support our work.
After the tasting, please visit the Planting Justice Farmers Market in front of our Good Table Café & Nursery in downtown El Sobrante from 10am to 2pm!
Directions & tasting information will be emailed to you after registration.
