Support Planting Justice!

Planting Justice started in 2009 with two people transforming yards using tools from the public lending library. Now PJ employs over 50 people with living wages and benefits for themselves and family members. We prioritize hiring local people who have been directly impacted by mass incarceration and other social inequities–over 2/3 of PJ staff are formerly incarcerated or family members of people currently or formerly incarcerated, and most of the East Oakland Nursery staff live in the Sobrante Park neighborhood.

Your support is instrumental to help us finish our two current major projects–the Aquaponics Farm & Training Center (next to our East Oakland Nursery) and the Good Table Pay-as-you-can Café / Industrial Kitchen / Nursery in El Sobrante–as well as continuing our holistic Reentry Program to provide wrap-around support services to formerly incarcerated staff members.

Thank you for your continued support in growing food and community!
And we hope to see you volunteering at the East Oakland Nursery or at the Mother Farm in El Sobrante soon!
